Lips, Cheeks, Chin & Jawline: The Filler Line-up

What is Filler?

Fillers are injectable hyaluronic acid. Each filler has different properties and personalities. Some have softer, flexible profiles for softening fine lines or adding subtle volume, while others are more durable and robust for lifting and contouring. Whatever your goals are, Tailored has packages to help you achieve the outcomes you are looking for.

❋ Natural Approach

The goal is always to look refreshed, never over done.

❋ Safety First

Hyaluronic acid fillers are dissolvable, allowing us to reverse if necessary.

Following post care instructions are vital to minimize potential infection or complications. Your provider will educate you on how to care for your skin after your treatment.

Filler FAQ

Is filler painful?

Mild discomfort at injection site is normal for all filler treatments. Lips can be more sensitive. Numbing is provided for patient comfort. Lidocaine is present within the filler as well, so you will feel slightly numb in the areas of injection.

How long does filler last?

Duration can vary from patient to patient. Typical filler results can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on filler selection and location of treatment.

Is filler reversible?

Yes, filler can be dissolved. Sometimes filler dissolving can take more than one session depending on amount of filler being dissolved.

Will I bruise or swell?

Plan on bruising and swelling. If you don’t, then great! Most patients have at least some small areas of bruising and swelling. Pt’s are always advised to plan filler treatments at least 2 weeks before any special events to allow for bruising and swelling to subside.

How soon can I wear makeup?

Avoid makeup for 24 hours after filler injection.

How soon can I exercise?

Avoid exercise for 24 hours after filler injection.

How can I minimize bruising and swelling?

Avoid anything than can thin your blood for at least 3 days leading up to your treatment. Alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, turmeric, vitamin E and caffeine are some examples. Those who are on prescribed blood thinners are at greatest risk for severe bruising or hematoma. Do not discontinue any prescribed blood thinners without discussion from the prescribing provider.

Topical and oral Arnica are great options for minimizing bruising and swelling. Pineapple has bromelian which is an anti-inflammatory that you can eat to reduce swelling and bruising. Intermittent icing the treatment area can help as well.

If I have a history of cold sores, can I still get lip filler?

Discuss with your provider your risks for cold sores. Preventative anti-virals can be prescribed if needed.

Will other people be able to tell?

Yes (and no). Initially, with potential bruising and swelling, it may be noticeable that you had something done. Once the swelling and bruising have subsided, the goal is to have natural enhancements that help you look refreshed yet undetectable.

Who is NOT a candidate for filler?

If you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding.

Previous reaction or allergy to filler or lidocaine.

Current infection in or around treatment area.

Unrealistic expectations- filler is one tool in the toolbox, but it cannot address all patient concerns.

How many syringes will I need?

This is why your in-person consultation is so important, to assess the volume restoration that is required to help you achieve your goals. A typical syringe of filler contains 1ml of hyaluronic acid, which equates to the size of one blueberry. Small areas like lips may require 1 syringe or even less. Areas like cheeks, chin and jawline can require 1-4 syringes.
